NORTHERN ASTRA ORGANISING BUKA PUASA WITH ORPHANS AT MASJID PUNGSU SERIBU IN KEPALA BATAS, SEBERANG PERAI ON WEDNESDAY 24 SEPT 2008.


All Amateur Radio , SWLs, and friends are invited. Do take this opportunity to eyeball and spend this holy month of Ramadhan with fellow Astra members and those less fortunate. Good opportunity for the southern HAMs to get to know our fellow HAMs in the north.

ASTRA will be coordinating to bring orphans from Taman Bakti, 20 Children from the spastic homes and old folks ( from Pusat Jagaan Orang Tua Pematang Tok Gelam) to the rendezvous.

EVENT: TAHLIL AND BUKA PUASA WITH MARTS CENTRAL

In the spirit of Ramadhan, MARTS Selangor cordially invites you, your family and friends to join us for a "pot luck" berbuka puasa gathering, and tahlil in rememberence of our fellow HAM members who have left us.

1920 - Breaking of fast - tea/coffee/sirap limau, kurma, and bubur lambok (and other pot luck items) followed by Maghrib Prayers
1945 - Dinner - white rice, gulai kawah, ayam goreng, sayur campur, air teh/kopi/sirap limau (and other pot luck items)
2030 - End - Free and easy, PHOTO session so please try to stay back.

EVENT: BUKA PUASA WITH SEGAMAT AMATEUR RADIO

Dear Fellow hams,
Segamat amateur radio community is organising a "Majlis Buka Puasa bersama radio amateur" with details as follows:
Date: 21 September 2008 (Sunday)
Time: 1900hrs sharp!
Dress code: proper dressing for such majlis.
Location: Masjid Kg Tungku Tiga, Segamat (N 02' 33.039' E 102' 52.874')
So if you guys can find some time and would like to eyeball with us, come down here and have a jolly good time. ALL local hams will there to entertain you. With their rigs and antennas.....
Kg Tungku Tiga is a small kampung not far from Segamat town. Flood prone area.

Menu includes: xxxxx fish (Segamat is well known for it, masak lemak kuning cili padi), ala kampung dishes, etc... not telling more than that... otherwise there won't be enough to go around...hahahahah...

Pls let us know how many are coming. Confirmation dateline: 12 September 2008 1400hrs.... late registration will NOT be entertained.... sorry... have to hunt for those elusive fish and ulams and hams...heheheh

BREAKING FAST WITH KURMA AND AS FOR DINNER WE HAD AYAM AND IKAN KELI MASAK LEMAK CHILLI API . VERY HOT ! HOT! HOT! .PERSONEL AND PRIVATE DONATION WAS RAISED FOR THIS ORPHANAGE. RTM COVERED THE STORY AND FEATURED ON SUNDAY NEWS ALL DAY.

EVENT: UNIARM INVITATION TO BUKA PUASA AT A KAMPUNG ORANG ASLI GOMBAK ON 6TH SEPT SATURDAY.

AFTER EVENT NEWS : The weather was cloudy and damp but no heavy down pour. Food was great especially the ayam masak buloh ! ....their speciality. A must try!. Goodie bags of rice, sugar and basic materials were handed to ibu tunggal .

Objective : To create awarenes of the plight of the orang asli in Gombak and also do a prayer for our Arwah Pak dollah.
There will be orphans from nearby orphanage to break fast with us together with the orang asli of batu 16..

Small community situated in secluded forest off the main road . Scenic view, quiet spot in the gombak district forest. At the same time they are having their end of fruit season festival.
For those who wants to recce the area and go for short trip light off road the tok batin can arrange it. Please be there at 3pm.
Others who would like to check out the waterfall and the kampung come early. One other thing...no electricity line only generator power so bring your own torch light.

PROGRAM :
7.20pm Break fast - Light food
Magrib Prayers
Doa prayers for Arwah Pak Dollah and other HAMs who have passed away.

8.00 pm Makan at the kampung
Traditional chicken cook in bamboo / Lamb BBQ
8.30 pm Ishak
Then Short Tarawih

Non muslim can check out the kampung after Dinner
To prepare : Bring your raincoat just incase and torch light. Also Camping stuff as you wish.
